Marra has made me listen. Have to say the free download of 'Colours Fade' is scintillating, an ever repeating haze of loveliness ; impressed, sounds a step up from previous material, is there a new album of such gems on the way?

My other great love and the only other band to get me to travel abroad to see them(Paris again)..I think the new album is out Feb time and they will be touring in England early part of March.
Have heard most of the new stuff live and sounding rather good so can't wait for the album.
Going to see them in Nottingham and London and may even do another trip abroad...If the Euro-Star site is correct I should be getting some sort of complementary ticket for disaster Saturday so could put it to good use.

That band is immense.
Their second album, Fire Like This, is due to release late feb/march apparently. No need to say I just can't wait to listen to it.
Their first album is really good as well. Try 'Doesn't Matter Much', 'ADHD' and 'Try Harder' for some immediate 'jumping around' fix...'This Is Not For You' is an anthem.
Going to see em in London, Brussels, and currently saving some money for the french tour...Gonna be really interesting, to say the least.

Much prefer Colours Fade, but it's pretty good itself.
I've got a Garage ticket now meaning a nice three city, three gig mini venture from the 13th-15th!

I caught Underground Railroad at Reading Festival's Introducing stage in 08 and they were really excellent. One of those bands at Reading where the write up sounds interesting and they end up being cracking.
Well worth seeing.

OK - Blood Red Shoes fans BE QUICK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Look at this gem

* CLUB PANDA IS NOW AT THE LEXINGTON! **
** CITIZENS HEADLINE OUR THIRD SHOW!! **
** AND THE SUPPORT IS UNBELIEVABLY ACE, TOO!!! ** The Thing: CLUB PANDA PRESENTS…
The Bands: CITIZENS + WHITE RABBITS + BLOOD RED SHOES + THE NEAT

The Place: THE LEXINGTON (96-98 Pentonville Road, London N1 9JB Tel: 0207 837 5371)

The Date: THURSDAY JANUARY 28TH 2010

The Doors: 7.30pm / The Damage: £7.00 from www.wegottickets.com

The Back Story: Club Panda is a monthly night brought to you by the kind beasties behind fierce panda records. After a bit of moving hither and zither it now takes place under the auspices of Club Fandango. More pertinently, Club Panda now takes place at The Lexington on the very last Thursday every month. Phew wee. Thus far The Ruling Class and Goldheart Assembly have gently shaken the Club Panda Lexington floorboards. And here is some information about January’s pretty sensational ‘turns’:

CITIZENS (onstage 10.15pm) are four intelligent, articulate young men who make music which is a bit tense, a bit taut and quite a bit chewy. Alternatively, in their own words it’s “a sound of driven bass lines, insistent drum beats, full bloodied vocals and expansive guitars,” as you may or may not expect from people influenced by Radiohead and LCD Soundsystem. You can dance if you want to...

WHITE RABBITS (onstage 9.30pm) are playing this special low key slot to tie in with their New To Q gig a couple of days earlier. Good for us, great for music lovers the capital over because White Rabbits are six intellectual young lags from New York who make exuberant, preppy pop with a wise edge, as evinced by current single ‘Percussion Gun’ (Mute). Even better, this is a return to White Rabbits’ bamboo shoot-flavoured roots, as their first album was released on fierce panda a couple of years ago.

BLOOD RED SHOES (onstage 8.45pm) are still very much the hectic punkalunka duo of Laura-Mary and Steve and they are also playing a special low key slot, this time to prepare for their sold-out Garage show in March as well as the release of their second album, ‘Fire Like This’.

THE NEAT (onstage 8.00pm) are four post-post-post-post-punk rock roustabouts from Hull who make us think of The Fall playing darts with Idlewild. We’re such goofy fanboys of them that this is The Neat’s third trip to Panda Paradise following excellent 2009 showings at the Dublin Castle and at In The City.

This was a superb little gig with multiple attendance from the Joy Formidable crew - sadly not Damaged or Gooner - trust you are ok guys - missed ya!

The Neat were phenominal I thought. The second time I've seen them the second micro set I've seen but quality dripped throughout.
Like Mark E Smith fronting Joy Division with some angular Gang Of Four guitars thrown in yet sounding nowt like any of em. Cracking good band look out for them - my unreserved tips for 2010 (better than The Drums or Ellie Goulding or any of those other multi tipped people by a stellar orbit)

The gig was made all the better by the top class company - thanks guys and gals.

PLUS we had Blood Red Shoes who were really excellent I thought. I don't think I'm quite as into them as some of the others there but I thoroughly enjoyed them. I look forward to the new CD with bated breath.
Lovely to see the band in the tiny Lexington as opposed to the Garage.

One song (half a song) of White Rabbits was probably enough and me and David scuttled back to Reading. They may have been a half decent support but coming after Blood Red Shoes and the angular cleverness of White Rabbits, they just seemed painfully lacking to me...

I'd be interested to know what the others thought.....
